Bart Brouwers (1960) is editor-in-chief of the Dutch free daily Sp!ts. He is member of the Dutch Press Complaints Commission and member of the jury of the "Silver Camera", the national yearly award for photojournalism. He is boardmember of Kim, forum for reflection on journalism. At the Tilburg based Fontys School of Journalism (FHJ) he is member of the committee for contact with professionals. Since january 2009 Brouwers is member of the temporary commission "Innovation and Future of the Press" of the minister of Media. He has been editor-in-chief of Dagblad De Limburger. Brouwers has a master in Eastern European History and is the author of "Alles voor het Nieuws" (1994).
